Sahibabad is one of the five Assembly seats of the Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh. The Sahibabad Assembly seat comes under the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded sitting MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, who had won the 2017 Assembly elections by a margin of over 1.50 lakh votes. On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party has fielded Amarpal Sharma from the seat. Amarpal had won the seat in 2012 on the Bahujan Samaj Party's ticket. The Sahibabad Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for SCs or STs. The voting is scheduled in the first phase i.e. on February 10, 2022.
