Rampur is one of the five Assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district and also part of the Rampur Lok Sabha constituency. The Rampur Assembly seat has been a traditional seat of Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan. However, this time he is behind bars and has filed a nomination from Sitapur Jail. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Aakash Saxena from this constituency. The Rampur Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for SCs or STs. The voting is scheduled in the second phase i.e. on February 14, 2022.
