Former MLA Kartar Singh Bhadana is contesting from Khatauli Assembly seat on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket. Bhadana left the Bharatiya Janata Party to join the BSP after the elections dates of the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections were announced. He has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly from this seat in the past. He had won the 2012 Assembly polls as an RLD candidate supported by Congress. He was also a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly and became the minister. Kartar Singh also contested Lok Sabha elections from Dausa and Morena seats against Sachin Pilot (2004) and Narendra Singh Tomar (2019) respectively and lost. His brother Avatar Singh Bhadana is contesting from the Jewar Assembly seat as an RLD candidate.
