Madhuban is one of the four Assembly seats of the Mau district in Uttar Pradesh. Also, this is one of the five Assembly seats that make up the Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency. The sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Madhuban, Dara Singh Chauhan, who was also a minister in the Yogi Adityanath government, recently switched to the Samajwadi Party. However, Chauhan has decided to contest the elections from Ghosi this time. The Madhuban Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for SCs or STs. The voting is scheduled in the seventh phase i.e. on March 7, 2022.
