Doiwala is one of the Assembly constituencies of the Dehradun district in Uttarakhand. There were a total of 1,42,660 voters in the Doiwala constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled to be held in a single phase in Uttarakhand i.e. on February 14, 2022. In 2017, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Trivendra Singh Rawat won the seat. Brij Bhushan Gairola of the BJP will run for the seat this time, as Rawat has already stated that he will not run in the 2022 election. The Doiwala Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). It must be noted that this Assembly seat falls under the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by former Uttarakhand CM and former Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
