Haridwar is one of the Assembly constituencies of the Haridwar district in Uttarakhand. There were a total of 1,43,519 voters in the Haridwar constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled to be held in a single phase in Uttarakhand i.e. on February 14, 2022. In 2017, Bharatiya Janata Party's Madan Kaushik had won the seat. The BJP has again fielded the four-time MLA and BJP's state president in Uttarakhand from the seat. The Haridwar Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). It must be noted that this Assembly seat falls under the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by former Uttarakhand CM and former Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
