Sucha Singh Chhotepur is the senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal. Sucha Singh is contesting the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from the Batala Assembly seat. He was the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) former state convener for Punjab. He is a former independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and former state Tourism Minister. He was also with the Congress party for some time. In 2017, Chhotepur launched Aapna Punjab Party but failed to make any significant impact. He himself lost the elections from the Gurdaspur Assembly constituency and came at fourth position after getting just 1.49% of total valid votes. Chhotepur has been pitted against Congress candidate Ashwani Sekhri and Fatehjang Singh Bajwa of BJP.
