Bishnupur is an Assembly constituency of the Bishnupur district in Manipur. There were a total of 29,560 voters in the Bishnupur constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled in the first phase i.e. on February 28, 2022. In 2017, Congress party's Konthoujam Govindas had won the seat. However, a month after he quit Congress in 2021, he joined the BJP. The BJP has fielded him from this constituency. The Bishnupur Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for SCs or STs. Also, this Assembly seat falls under the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
