Mandrem is one of the Assembly constituencies of the North Goa district in Goa and also part of the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Dayanand Sopte is the sitting MLA from the Mandrem Assembly constituency. Sopte had won the seat in 2019’s bye-elections. The BJP has fielded him again in the 2022 Assembly elections. This is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for SCs or STs. The voting on this Assembly seat is scheduled for February 14, 2022. In the 2017 polls, Sopte defeated the incumbent Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
