Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane is a Cabinet minister in the Pramod Sawant-led Goa government. He is the son of Pratapsingh Raoji Rane, the current Indian National Congress MLA in the Goa Legislative Assembly and a former Chief Minister of Goa. From June 2007 to March 2012, Vishwajit Rane served as the minister of health, agriculture and craftsmen training in the Goa government led by Digambar Kamat. On March 16, 2017, Rane resigned as the MLA for the Valpoi Constituency as well as the Indian National Congress. On 7 April 2017, he joined the BJP and was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in Manohar Parrikar's Cabinet on April 12, 2017. The health portfolio was assigned to him.
