The voting for Talala assembly by-polls in Gir-Somnath district has begun. The by-polls were necessitated after the death of MLA Jashu Barad, who passed away after prolonged illness in January this year. BJP has fielded Karadiya Rajput candidate Govind Parmar, who had represented Talala assembly constituency in the past. Congress has fielded Bhagvan Barad, the Ahir community leader, who was also an MLA from 2007-2012 in Talala.
